Injuries we often treat
- Ankle sprains and repeated sprains
- Muscle strains and tears, such as the hamstring
- Knee injuries: ACL, meniscus and pain at the front of the knee
- Tendon pain: Achilles, patellar tendon and shoulder tendons in throwing sports
- Back and neck pain related to training
What to do in the first days after an injury
Protect the injured area for one to three days and raise it if it is swollen, then start light movement and loading within comfort rather than long rest. Avoid heat and strong massage on a new, swollen injury, and get assessed if you cannot stand or move, or the swelling persists.
How rehabilitation works at Revibe
- Assessment of the injury, movement, strength and balance
- Easing pain and swelling with manual therapy and the right exercises
- Progressive loading of muscles, tendons and joints
- Balance and movement-control training to lower the risk of re-injury
- A return-to-sport decision based on strength and movement tests and your confidence — not on time alone
Rehabilitation after surgery
After operations such as ACL reconstruction we follow the surgeon’s protocol and instructions, and build on it a programme that restores movement, strength and confidence all the way back to sport.
When do you need urgent medical care?
- Being unable to put weight on the leg, or severe pain pressing on the bone after the injury (possible fracture)
- A dislocation or visible deformity of a joint
- A blow to the head with headache, dizziness, vomiting or confusion (concussion)
- Rapid swelling of the knee or ankle within hours of the injury
- Pain, swelling and redness in the calf, or shortness of breath
In these cases go to the nearest emergency department straight away — instead of booking physiotherapy.
FAQ
When should I start physiotherapy after an injury?
Usually in the first days, once a fracture or any injury that needs a doctor has been ruled out. Starting early with the right movement helps recovery and limits stiffness and weakness.
When can I go back to playing?
When your strength, movement and balance are close to the uninjured side, and you can do your sport’s movements without pain or fear. We measure this with you using simple tests.
Do you treat professional athletes?
Yes — we work with professional and amateur athletes, with complete privacy.
Does sports massage help after an injury?
Massage helps ease tightness and recovery after training, but it is not given firmly on a new, swollen injury. We decide its timing within the rehab plan.
